Fried Artichokes Recipe Flavored With Lemon & Ginger

  • To begin preparing the lemon and ginger fried artichokes, in a medium bowl, beat the egg, garlic, ginger, sugar, salt, lemon zest, and parsley until creamy.

  • In another small bowl, mix together the salt, flour, breadcrumbs, and Parmesan.

  • Squeeze the artichoke heart segments and remove excess water.

  • Dip the artichoke hearts in the egg mixture and then in the flour mixture, so that the artichokes are well coated in the flour mixture.

  • Heat the oil in a wok over medium heat.

  • Once the oil is hot, add the batter-dipped artichokes in batches to the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy. Repeat with the remaining artichokes and serve hot.

  • Serve the lemon and ginger fried artichokes as an appetizer with the yogurt tzatziki sauce.
