Paneer Butter Masala Biryani Recipe

  • To start preparing the Paneer Butter Masala Biryani recipe, prepare all the ingredients and keep them handy.

  • In a large biryani pot or cooking pan, heat butter over medium heat, add ginger, garlic and onions. Let onions become soft and golden.

  • Add badi elaichi, tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, jaggery and salt. Mix well and bring the tomato gravy to a high boil.

  • Once the gravy starts boiling, add the paneer pieces and fresh cream. Mix well and make sure you get a semi-thick masala on the paneer.

  • Add a handful of roughly chopped mint leaves, 1-1/2 cups of washed basmati rice and mix well to combine.

  • Add 1-1/4 cups of water and let the Paneer Butter Masala Biryani come to a boil. Once it comes to a boil, lower the flame, cover the pan and cook until all the water is absorbed.

  • Once all the water is absorbed, turn off the heat and let the biryani rest for 10 minutes before stirring.

  • Gently mix more pudina leaves and serve the Paneer Butter Masala Biryani hot along with raita.
