1 pound (~450 g) mushrooms, quartered
2-3 tablespoons of butter

Melt the butter in a pan and brown the onion for about 3 minutes over medium heat. Add the chopped mushrooms and brown for 2 minutes. Then add the sauerkraut and cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper (optional) and serve warm/hot.
